Guest Cabins...Be Our Guest!

200 year-old log cabin. The log cabin has over 200 years of history in its walls and on the grounds. It was once a dance hall where the young and young at heart could stroll with their sweethearts, down to the pond, to find row boats, made available by the proprietor, a railroad man.

Guests are invited to bow hunt (in season), fish the stocked pond, stroll nearly 20 acres, or cozy up to the wood stove, with a good book or a good friend. Find your favorite picnic spot, or enjoy our favorite - the café table beneath the age old ash.

Cozy, modernized bedroom. The cabin has been updated for modern living, while retaining its simple beauty from a time and way of life, long past. Living areas include a great room, spacious bath and a cozy kitchen downstairs, and two queen bedrooms up. The kitchen has a full size refrigerator, a gas stove, microwave, and a coffee maker. It is well equipped for cooking and enjoying what you've cooked. Please feel free to use our collection of cast iron cookware to prepare your meals. A washer and dryer are available to guests, but there are no televisions, telephones, or radios. A carport accommodates two vehicles.

The Studio is a comfortably roomy efficiency that sleeps two adults, and is accessible to those with disabilities. It has a well equipped kitchenette, with a microwave and small refrigerator.

Cabin stone fireplace at Christmas. The Phoenix is a symbol of new beginnings. Legend has it that the Phoenix emerges from the ashes of its fire, with its beauty and power newly restored. Our hope is that you will experience a renewal of life and spirit during your visit, which will endure beyond your departure as our guest. Experience the gentle serenity and take the feeling home with you. Wise old growth trees, fresh air, mountain views, a babbling creek, quiet and private moments await our guests.

Guest cabins are located in the small community of Union, 3.5 miles south of Route 460, between Bedford and Roanoke Virginia. Bedford is about 10 miles away, and Roanoke is about 20 miles. Nearby airports include Lynchburg and Roanoke.

Both the cabin and studio are non-smoking. Guests may smoke outside, as the trees don't seem to mind. The cabin is not appropriate for children or pets. Check in is at 3:00 p.m. and check out is at 11:00 a.m. We will be glad to accommodate other check in/out times when we can, so please ask if you need other considerations.
